I can't tell you how many times I've taken silly personality tests since I've been blogging. Most of them were only vaguely close, some had parts which sort of described me and others were wildly inaccurate. I've also taken some personality tests which were so spot-on that they freaked me out. I recall one piece of software in particular, which I first used on a MacIntosh Lisa and later spent a hefty sum of money to aquire for my Apple //e, called Mind Prober. It was basically a series of pages of adjectives (about 6 pages worth) which you simply agreed or disagreed if they represented you. Then it went on to generate a series of paragraphs about you. For my money it was the most accurate thing I'd ever seen...
...until recently, when I took this course at work. It used a personality test called the "Classic DiSC". This basically asked questions to see what type of work attitude you had, and boiled them down into four categories:
D: Dominance, I: Influence, S: Steadiness, C: Consistency
Not surprising, my highest score was in consistency, followed by steadiness...which makes sense, considering my job. (I'm a System's Administrator, nee GEEK.) My next highest was Domininance and finally...Influence. Which like I said, had they explained all this stuff to me before I took the test, I probably could have predicted the outcome.
The most recent test I have taken was the Briggs-Meyers test. (http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JT
If you REALLY want an accurate test, this is the way to go. And when you get it, check this out to figure out what it means... (http://www.personalitypage.com/info.ht
Then let me know what you came up with.
